Petugas SDA Tangani Genangan di Depan Jakarta Islamic Center

Quick Handling Makes Puddle in Front of JIC Gradually Recede

Hopefully, this condition can be handled quickly

Koja Sub-district SDA Executing Unit Head, Slamet Riyanto said that to quickly control inundation, a mobile pump with 100 liters per second was deployed to handle inundation at the location.

"Heavy rain made the road flooded up to 20 centimeters. We suck up rainwater to channel it into the Pinang River," he expressed, Thursday (2/29).

He explained that the inundation was also triggered by the JIC area in the basin area considering its location was prone to inundation.

"We also optimize the handling of inundation by deploying ten personnel assisted by PPSU personnel to clean water channels and storm drains," he explained.

Until 12 PM, the inundation was gradually receding, even though the weather conditions at that location were still experiencing light rain.

"We'll carry out the treatment until it is complete or subsides. Hopefully, the rain will stop soon," he added.

One of the traders at the location, Husna (33) uttered the inundation was seen at 8 AM due to water in the channel overflowing.

"I appreciate them (personnel) in the field. Hopefully, this condition can be handled quickly," he stated.
